An early 20th century crackle glaze ceramic jug hand made in France. Jugs such as these were famous for absinthe use, although since that is now illegal, they are equally useful as water jugs!
This jug is fairly unique in that it has minimal colouring, unlike most of the other cockerel jugs made at the time which had a blue, green and brown overall decoration. Its simplicity is what makes this jug so attractive and special.
