The best known Dutch earthenware is Delftware. This was produced to imitate the blue and white porcelain from China that the Dutch East India Company brought to Holland in the 17th century.Around 1700 a different type of porcelain appeared on the Dutch market: Imari from Japan. Its colourful combination of blue, red and gold made it instantly popular. Delft potteries responded immediately to this new demand, producing decorative objects in the same colours.
Designed by Piet Design in the Netherlands and based on this Japanese style, our charming Imari angel come flat packed for you to assemble at home. This provides collaborative fun for the family and produces a delightful addition to the Christmas period.
The decorations are sold without hanging strings.
