These vintage traditional hand painted and hand crafted wooden Kokeshi dolls were made by skilled craftsmen from the Tohoku area in north eastern Japan.

The various designs, each particular to the area in which the doll was made, have been handed down through generations during the last 200 years.

Every doll is signed on the base by the craftsman.
