Large Bozo wooden fish.

These fish are produced by Bozo fishermen from the Bambarra region of the Niger delta in Mali. Hand carved from a single piece of wood, and hand painted, they were used in ceremonies to honour Faro, the water genius.

The articulated fin is attached with a rubber strip.
