ARE THE TENTS WATEPROOF?

All our tents are waterproofed (as much as cotton canvas can be). These are a boutique canvas product and not PVC. If they are left in the rain over the weekend, they will be dry, but if they are left for days in the rain, they have the tendency to leak around the edges.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PUT UP?

Small Tents (Siesta, Tea, Beach, Children's, Dog): between 1 to 1 ½ hours first time. Minimum of 2 people required.

Medium Tents (2.8m & 3.5m Pergola, 3.5m Pavilion, 4m Raj): between 1 ½ to 2 hours first time. Minimum of 2 people required

Large Tents (6m x 4m Maharaja, Lily Pond, Bhurj, Shikar): between 2 – 3 hours first time. Minimum of 2 people required.

CAN IT STAY UP ALL SUMMER?

This is very much weather dependent! If we have a very dry summer the tent will be fine. If it is wet constantly the tent will need some time to dry out and be taken in to hang.

DO I HAVE TO BUY A COMPLETE SET OF WALLS?

Walls are optional extras for the Pergola, Maharaja, Pavilion and Raj Tents. They are individually priced and the maximum number per tent is indicated on each product page.

We recommend choosing walls for one side to hide any unwanted backdrop, walls for three sides to create a cosy, intimate (and windproof!) setting or walls for four sides if you intend to use the tent overnight or need protection in case it rains.

HOW MUCH SPACE DO I NEED FOR STORAGE?

Our tents come complete with hessian bags for easy storage of the fabrics, pegs, ropes and finials. Poles can be bundled up and will stand as high as the longest pole.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY TENT?

  • When assembling your tent up, ensure you have the mat down first or a clean tarpaulin to keep the canvas and lining off the ground.

  • The most important care advice is to give your tent time to dry and ensure it is BONE dry when you put your tent away. Failure to do so will result in mold and black discolouring appearing on the canvas and the lifetime of the fabric being severely reduced.

  • Linings and drapes can be washed but must be on a cold wash setting and not tumbled dried even on a cold setting. All fabrics must be hung to dry.

  • Coloured wall and roof linings must be washed independently of each other.

  • Canopies and canvas walls can be cleaned and re-waterproofed either by a specialist company or using an over-the-counter product.

DO YOU HAVE GUIDANCE ON PLACEMENT OF MY TENT?

  • Tents should be situated in an area that has good drainage.

  • Should be on a grass or lawn area. Hard standing tents will need anchoring point that will need to be provided by the client.

  • Ground should as level as possible. If you are unsure, please contact the office.

  • Area must be checked of underground water and gas pipes or electrical cables as tents require a 75cm depth peg.
