Cast brass Hamsa bird on plinth

A vintage cast brass Hamsa bird mounted on a plinth.  For Indians the Hamsa bird is a mythical aquatic creature often associated with a goose or a swan, representing perfect union and balance in life. 

This bird may have been the finial for an oil lamp. It has an upright tail and an articulated  plume of water streaming from its beak.  Fine detailing is engraved on its body and tail.
